Machine embroidery and fabric painting = original work of art

Machine embroidery and fabric painting = original work of art

Anita Goodesign, founded by Steve Wilson in 1994, is a world-class embroidery design company based in Charlotte USA who manufactures all their own products from conception through to completion.  These include generic embroidery to original, custom-designed works of art of which Prayer Garden is something completely different from any others in their collection.

Prayer Garden consists of 94 quilt blocks in four sizes that are combined together to create a beautiful quilt. Each of the designs, all digitized with a hand style running stitch, are different and range from inspirational verses to cute animals and delightful gardening scenes. The unique part is that the blocks are all different sizes. There are large and small squares and large and small rectangles that combine to make large blocks. Sixteen of these large blocks are then combined to make a 64”x64” with each of the blocks having a folded fabric border. Now what makes Prayer Garden even more unique is that Anita Goodesign has incorporated fabric painting.  After embroidering the designs, you then add highlights with fabric markers!  When you have completely finished the quilt top you will have a truly unique project.

For 2022 Ripley Sewing Centre will be running this as one of their embroidery small group activities.  As articulated in the RSC copyright policy each participant is required to purchase their own copy (dependent upon embroidery machine brand).  All participants in this project will connect, via the zoom meeting facility, for Ripley Sewing Centre’s monthly embroidery show and tell session.
